The film also benefits from a stellar cast, led by Baruchel and Howerton, who deliver nuanced and compelling performances as the contrasting partners. Baruchel portrays Lazaridis as a brilliant but socially awkward engineer who is passionate about technology and quality. Howerton plays Balsillie as a charismatic but ruthless businessman who is driven by sales and market share. The supporting cast includes Rich Sommer as Paul Stannos, a loyal but frustrated executive; Michael Ironside as Charles Purdy, a ruthless investor; SungWon Cho as Ritchie Cheung, a genius programmer; Michelle Giroux as Dara Frankel, a savvy PR manager; and Cary Elwes as Carl Yankowski, a clueless CEO of Palm.
